when i was suffering while with cufon, i was forced to make sure the font  "conversion" step was done LAST after doing a jquery-clone command, where i was really copying one div to another.

does anybody know if i will run into a similar issue with typeface.js?

sorry, i have not tried this yet, but its getting late in the day.  yes i should just play with it, but i am getting lazy.

before going any further, lets just say that AWESOME is not a strong enough word for typeface.js!  i really like it better than cufon.  and i never even bothered using sifr, that seemed pretty silly to me.

what really sold me was the ability to print!  cufon really dropped the ball on that one.

i did run into an interesting issue.  i am using a custom font that only uses maybe a third of the letters/numbers, and the rest were UNMAPPED.

so, i was getting some jscript error about "glyph not found" - now, being the totally technically challenged kinda guy i am, i went in and inspected the generated typeface file, and i saw that the generated typeface file had something like this:

but the reference letter (in quotes) was not a good clean ascii character like all the examples were, but rather it had something a bit odd, like a copyright symbol or some other symbol that is much higher on the http-ascii chart.

my workaround was to go into the original font and just map each and every letter/number, even if they are mapped to a blank font.  in other words, in my custome font map EVERYTHING, even if its not used.

i was tempted to go into the typeface-0.15.js file and see if i could come up with an easy workaround, like a blank-glyph test.  but i wanted the forum input first.

Since David has kindly made the code open-source perhaps another generous developer might step forward and give assistance to take it forward?  I would do so myself but my coding isn't up to it.....:-)

i've used typeface on my wife's website. i did all that was explained here. when i open the website with my browser ie9 it works very well. when my wife opens the website with her browser nothing happens and the alternative fonts were shown.

i tried everything: doctype, charsets etc. i have NO idea why my browser (ie AND firefox) is able to display the fonts and my wife's browsers do not display it. she also uses ie9!
